Senior Data Analyst (BI, Automation & AI-Ready)

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, build and maintain Power BI dashboards and data models to deliver accurate, timely business intelligence across the organisation.
• Write efficient SQL queries to extract, transform and validate data from multiple sources, ensuring data integrity and freshness for all reporting outputs.
• Identify repetitive manual workflows in the reporting cycle and automate them using Python, Power Automate, or scheduled scripts to free up time for deeper analysis.
• Actively explore and integrate AI-powered tools and features into the BI workflow, including native Power BI AI capabilities, predictive analytics and other AI services, to enhance insight quality and speed.
• Collaborate with the AI team to embed machine learning outputs, forecasting models and smart alerts into live dashboards, evolving reports from descriptive to predictive.
• Establish and enforce data-governance standards, documentation and best practices for the BI environment as the subject-matter expert.
• Partner with business stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and translate complex data into clear, actionable visual narratives.
• Maintain and optimise existing data pipelines, ETL processes and refresh schedules to ensure reliable, self-service reporting.
• Mentor junior team members as the team scales and champion a culture of automation, AI adoption and continuous improvement within the data function.

Requirements

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in data science, computer science, statistics, information technology, or a related quantitative field; equivalent practical experience will also be considered.
• Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in BI development, data analytics, or a similar analytical role, with demonstrated ownership of reporting outputs.
• Advanced SQL proficiency, including complex joins, CTEs, window functions and query optimisation across relational databases such as PostgreSQL and MySQL.
• Strong Power BI expertise in data modelling, DAX measure authoring, Power Query and report publishing to enterprise environments.
• Practical Python skills for data manipulation, automation scripting and API integration; familiarity with the pandas and requests libraries is essential. Demonstrated experience in automating repetitive workflows, whether through Python scripts or scheduled data pipelines.
• Solid understanding of data governance, validation techniques and quality-assurance practices within a BI environment.
• Excellent stakeholder communication skills in English, with the ability to translate technical data concepts into business-friendly insights for non-technical audiences.
• Exposure to AI API services such as the OpenAI API, Anthropic Claude API, or similar generative AI platforms for integrating predictive or generative capabilities into BI workflows and automation scripts.
